Practice Dr. Gross
Social Commitment
As a financially successful practice, we feel obligated to assume social responsibility. In many countries around the world, people can only dream of receiving the healthcare and opportunities we have in Germany. Children, in particular, suffer most from poverty, misery, and illness. Without outside help, these children often have no chance of improving their situation.
Since 2005, we have sponsored a young, then 3-year-old boy in Zimbabwe, "Patrick Makokoro," through the organization Plan International.
In Zimbabwe, an increasing number of children are losing their families to AIDS. Early marriage and motherhood, violence against children and adolescents, and child labor are prevalent. Girls continue to have poor educational opportunities. The average life expectancy is just 42 years (79 years in Germany).
We as a practice are always happy when we receive news from our sponsored child and hear that he and his family are doing well. The organization "Plan International," with our resources and those of many others, is ensuring that this hopefully remains so through various projects and healthcare.
In the photos from 2005, you can see our sponsored child with his mother, "Lucia," and in the later photos from 2007, also with his little brother, "Paddington."
